East Berlin : home movie footage, 1953.

Opening footage includes some scenes in Copenhagen, 1950, including a party given by Arron Stentoff, Danish impresario and owner/manager of the Scandinavian Ice Revue (Scan Show). The guests are members of the cast and represent leading ice skaters from many European countries. The East Berlin footage was taken in May, 1953, and includes street scenes and footage of the Reichstag and other buildings. The two women shown were professional skaters then performing with "Holiday on Ice 1952, " an American Ice Show company performing for the first time in many Europen countries. The last part of the film was shot in West Berlin on the same day in May. Included in the collection are postcard pictures purchased in West Berlin in 1953 showing scenes from the film with contrasting views, both before and after WWII. Included is the program of "Holiday on Ice 1952; " many of the skaters filmed are listed in the program.
